We are one of the UK’s largest truly independent companies within our industry, proudly family-owned and recognised for our friendly and supportive working environment. We are currently looking to recruit a reliable and professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our growing team.
This role involves operating a 12-ton rigid HGV fitted with a Fassi/HIAB crane, as well as smaller delivery vehicles, primarily across the M25 and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods, materials, and hired plant equipment safely and efficiently, while providing excellent customer service at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a HGV Class 2 vehicle fitted with a HIAB crane for loading and unloading duties.
- Deliver goods, materials, and hired equipment to customer sites accurately and on schedule.
- Collect hired plant and equipment from customer locations when required.
- Load, secure, and transport cargo safely in line with company and legal requirements.
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance issues promptly.
- Operate HIAB/crane equipment in accordance with health and safety procedures.
- Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate transport documentation.
- Communicate effectively with the transport and dispatch teams regarding deliveries and collections.
- Ensure full compliance with road traffic regulations, driver hours, and company policies.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
- Valid CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or HGV preferred
- HIAB/crane experience and relevant certification are highly desirable. All will be considered.
- Experience operating flatbed or similar commercial vehicles preferred.
- Good understanding of safe loading and unloading practices.
- Knowledge of health & safety and transport regulations.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused attitude.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
