Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Care Home Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of assisted living, nursing home practices, and specialised dementia care. This role involves managing a team, ensuring high standards of resident care, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful applicant will play a vital role in creating a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment for our residents, many of whom require specialised Alzheimer’s and dementia care.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the overall operation of the care home, ensuring delivery of high-quality care services in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Supervise and support staff, including care assistants, nurses, and administrative personnel, fostering a positive team environment.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans tailored to individual needs, including medication administration and specialised dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of staff to ensure compliance with best practices in senior and home care.
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing, ensuring their safety, dignity, and comfort at all times.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to care plans, incident reports, and regulatory compliance records.
- Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive resident support.
- Ensure the care home adheres to all health & safety regulations and maintains a clean, organised environment conducive to quality care delivery.
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently to optimise service delivery without compromising standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in nursing or senior care environments such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
- Demonstrable management or supervisory experience within a care home setting.
- Strong knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s disease management, medication administration, and developing personalised care plans.
- Relevant qualifications in nursing or social care (e.g., RGN/RMN registration or equivalent).
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team effectively.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in compliance documentation and regulatory standards.
