We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Butchery Team Member to join our busy Butchery Team. This role involves helping to produce high-quality products, maintaining excellent standards, and delivering outstanding customer service.
About you
We are looking for someone who is passionate about quality meat products and committed to supporting locally sourced and home-produced food. You will enjoy working directly with customers and take pride in sharing the Hilltop Farm story through exceptional service.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years butchery experience and will be looking for a long term role where they can develop their skills and grow in the role, working alongside our Senior Butcher.
They will be excited about the opportunity to play a key role in continuing to grow this vital part of the business. You will be enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to develop your knowledge and skills as part of a supportive team. You must be able to work as part of a team and equally as well on your own.

This role supports the Butchery Team across customer service, product preparation, stock control, hygiene, and day-to-day operational standards.

Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Butchery Counter
· Welcome customers to the butchery and provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance.
· Help prepare, cut, label, and pack butchery products, ensuring customer orders are accurate and ready within agreed timeframes.
· Develop a strong knowledge of Hilltop Farm products and confidently share information about product quality, provenance, and production methods with customers.
Stock management
· Support the Butchery Team with stock control activities, including ordering, stock rotation, and stock takes.
· Ensure all products are correctly labelled and date coded in accordance with food safety requirements.
Hygiene
· Maintain the butchery to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring full compliance with food safety legislation.
· To ensure cleaning is done as per procedures in place & records are completed as you go and always up to date.
· To support the Butchery Team to ensure compliance with EHO visits and that we maintain a 5/5 rating at our next spot visit.
Finance
· Ensure customer and supplier invoices are passed promptly to the Accounts Team to support accurate and timely processing.
Pay: Up to £13.50 per hour
