Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and compliance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving and delivery operations.
Duties
- Operate tractor heads that work with tautliners trailers and other heavy goods vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely collection and distribution of goods.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent movement or damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including delivery notes and logs.
- Comply with all legal requirements relating to driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and road safety standards.
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar heavy goods vehicles (HGVs).
- Valid HGV licence (Category C+E) with a clean driving record.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with logistics operations.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and compliance requirements for heavy goods vehicles.
- Ability to operate flatbed lorries safely and efficiently, including securing loads properly.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively.
- Strong communication skills to liaise professionally with clients and team members.
- Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
Payment Rates
- Deliveries up to 150 km — £130
- Deliveries between 150 and 300 km — £170
- Deliveries between 300 and 500 km — £215
- Deliveries between 500 and 600 km — £240
- Deliveries between 600 and 800 km — £275
- Deliveries between 800 and 1,000 km — £300
Additional Stop: £15 per stop
Estimated Monthly Income
Depending on your availability, workload, and efficiency, you can earn between £5000 and £10000 per month.
Pay: £6,000.00-£10,000.00 per month
