Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Shuttering Joiner to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and dismantling formwork for concrete structures on various building sites. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry, masonry, and mechanical principles, with the ability to work efficiently and safely in a dynamic environment. Prior experience with roofing, heavy lifting, and commercial driving will be advantageous. The ideal applicant will demonstrate excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Construct and assemble formwork using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to specifications.
- Install formwork securely in position for concrete pouring, ensuring stability and safety standards are met.
- Dismantle formwork after concrete has set without damaging the structure or formwork materials.
- Perform maintenance and repair of formwork components as needed.
- Assist with other construction tasks such as masonry, roofing, or carpentry when required.
- Operate heavy machinery or commercial vehicles in compliance with safety regulations.
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to minimise risks on site.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure project deadlines are met efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Shuttering Joiner or in a similar construction role involving formwork installation.
- Proficiency in welding, carpentry, masonry, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to formwork systems and construction equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Experience with roofing work is desirable but not essential.
- Valid driving licence for commercial driving duties is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in interpreting technical drawings.
- Physical fitness to work on-site in various weather conditions for extended periods.
