Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Head of Quality & Regulatory Compliance to lead the quality assurance and regulatory compliance functions within our 3 children’s residential services. In this pivotal role, you will champion the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality standards to ensure the highest levels of safety, well-being, and regulatory adherence for children in care. Your leadership will foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and compliance across all operational facets, ensuring that our services meet or exceed national regulations and best practice frameworks. Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee comprehensive quality assurance programs that monitor service delivery, safeguarding practices, and child welfare outcomes.
- Ensure all residential services comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and accreditation standards related to children’s care.
- Lead internal audits, inspections, and reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Collaborate with senior management to establish policies and procedures that promote best practices in child protection, health & safety, and service quality.
- Provide expert guidance on regulatory changes, ensuring timely updates to policies and staff training initiatives.
- Facilitate ongoing staff development by designing training modules focused on compliance requirements, quality standards, and safeguarding protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of compliance activities, audit findings, incident reports, and improvement plans to demonstrate accountability during inspections or reviews.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external regulators and accreditation bodies during inspections or audits.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in quality assurance within children’s residential or social care settings.
- Former CIW inspector or similar quality assurance experience in Wales.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing children’s services at local, regional, or national levels.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change management initiatives aimed at enhancing service quality and compliance.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail in audit processes and documentation review.
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively liaise with regulators, staff teams, children’s families, and external stakeholders.
- Relevant qualifications in social care management, health & safety, or regulatory compliance are highly desirable.
- A proactive approach with strong leadership qualities to inspire teams towards continuous improvement while maintaining a positive organizational culture focused on child safety and well-being.
