This is an exciting opportunity to join the Liberal Democrats at a pivotal moment following our strongest parliamentary result in over a century.
Reporting to the Membership Manager, the Membership Services Executive will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service to party members, supporters, volunteers and members of the public. Acting as the first point of contact for a wide range of enquiries, the successful candidate will help ensure an excellent membership experience through professional, efficient and responsive support.
The role holder will be responsible for processing membership applications and renewals, maintaining accurate records, resolving queries, and supporting the wider operation of the Party's membership systems. They will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that enquiries are handled effectively and that members receive the support they need.
The successful candidate will be organised, customer-focused and able to manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment. They will possess excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain a detailed understanding of the internal operations of a national political party while contributing directly to member engagement and organisational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for telephone, email and written enquiries from members, supporters and the public, providing timely and professional responses.
- Process membership applications, renewals, amendments and cancellations accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain and update membership records using the Party's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure enquiries are resolved effectively and escalated appropriately where necessary.
- Support the delivery of membership-related projects and initiatives as directed by the Membership Manager.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of customer service, ensuring members receive a positive experience when interacting with the Party.
- Assist with administrative processes relating to membership services and office operations.
- Undertake training and responsibilities associated with office-based roles, including Fire Warden and First Aider duties where required.
- Provide support to other teams and projects as required, contributing to the wider objectives of the organisation.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably required by the Membership Manager or senior leadership.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience of delivering excellent customer service in a professional environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confidence using IT systems and databases, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience of working with customer databases or CRM systems, particularly Salesforce.
- Experience within a membership organisation, charity or not-for-profit environment.
- An understanding of, and commitment to, the values of the Liberal Democrats.
