Dental Nurse Job Description
Responsible to: The lead Nurse, Practice Manager and Partners
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide nursing care to patients undergoing dental treatment
Dental nurses are responsible for the preparation of clinical areas, instruments and materials. Preparation crucial to the effective running of the surgery; ensures uninterrupted nursing care during patient appointments.
To ensure all instruments within the practice are correctly sent for decontamination, complying with local traceable and verifiable sterilisation procedures.
Ensure high standards of infection control and personal presentation.
Other Duties:
- Ensure the care and welfare of patients in a friendly, helpful and courteous manner.
- Comply with Clinical Governance, ``Best Practice`` CQC and GDC Standards.
- Support Colleagues.
- Maintaining standards for clinical equipment and supplies, arranging repairs, servicing etc through the lead nurse/Practice Manager /Asst.
- Monitor stock control and advise Lead Nurse when reorder is necessary.
- Be aware of the practice Health and Safety policy and report any issues to the Lead Nurse/ Practice Manager accordingly.
- Ensuring log books are filled in correctly and kept up to date in compliance with HTM01-05.
- Nursing with the dentists when required and abiding by the Dental Nurse Job Description.
- Maintaining the COSHH files ensuring that all products have safety data sheets.
- Waterline testing – temperature measurement etc.
- To safeguard at all times, confidentiality of information relating to patients.
- To work flexibly in response to service needs.
- Ensure that you keep up to date with CPD requirements
- Covering the Decontamination room when required

Pay: £14.40 per hour
