Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Grill Chef to lead our brand new burger van in delivering exceptional smashed burgers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a flair for creative meal preparation, and a deep understanding of food safety standards. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the grill section of the kitchen, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation of grilled items to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and guidance on culinary techniques, safety procedures, and best practices.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all operations.
- Collaborate with the head chef and management to develop new menu items and seasonal specials.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to prevent shortages.
- Ensure efficient workflow during service hours, coordinating with front-of-house staff to optimise customer satisfaction.
- Uphold a positive work environment by fostering teamwork, motivation, and professional development within the kitchen team.
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment.
- Extensive culinary experience specialising in grilling techniques and meal preparation.
- Previous restaurant experience with a focus on managing or leading a kitchen team is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential.
- Experience in serving customers directly or working within a hospitality setting is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to organise tasks efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
