Sweetbriar is a trusted provider of water hygiene and water systems services, working across residential, commercial, and specialist sites to keep booster pump sets, pressure systems, and water hygiene control measures running safely, reliably, and in line with HSG274 and ACOP L8.
We're looking for a Booster Pump Service Technician to join our team — someone comfortable getting hands-on with pump sets and control panels, who's also happy to build up their water hygiene knowledge and support the wider compliance side of the job.
The Role
This role combines the mechanical/electrical servicing of booster pump sets with day-to-day water hygiene tasks carried out during the same site visits — making it a great fit for someone with a pump/plumbing background looking to broaden into water hygiene compliance work.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and complete minor repairs to booster pump sets, pressure vessels, and associated control panels
- Diagnose and resolve common pump faults — failure to start, overheating, loss of pressure, electrical and mechanical issues etc
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits to schedule, including checking pump operation, pressure vessel charge, and general system condition
- Support water hygiene checks alongside pump servicing — basic tank/system inspections and water sampling
- Identify and report water quality or system deficiencies (e.g., missing filters, sediment build-up, scale, signs of stagnation)
- Complete clear, accurate service reports and documentation for each visit
- Respond to reactive callouts for pump failures in a timely, professional manner
- Liaise directly and professionally with clients on-site
What We're Looking For
- Experience servicing or repairing booster pumps, pressure sets, or related mechanical/electrical plant
- Confident fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and basic electrical systems
- An interest in, or working knowledge of, water hygiene principles (HSG274/ACOP L8) — full training provided if not already held
- Willingness to work toward relevant water hygiene qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds Legionella Control) if not already qualified
- Well organised, methodical, and comfortable managing your own schedule across multiple sites
- Good communication skills, confident dealing with clients face-to-face
- Full UK driving licence

Pay: £29,500.00-£35,000.00 per year
