We are seeking a dedicated IAAS Level 2 Caseworker to join our busy Immigration & Asylum team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accredited caseworker who is passionate about access to justice and providing high-quality legal advice to vulnerable clients.
You will manage your own caseload of immigration, asylum, detention, and human rights matters under appropriate supervision, working closely with a supportive team of senior caseworkers and solicitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and representation in asylum, immigration, nationality, and human rights matters.
- Prepare applications, appeals, and judicial review cases, including drafting witness statements and legal representations.
- Manage a caseload independently, ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency (LAA) contract requirements.
- Conduct client interviews with sensitivity and professionalism, particularly when working with vulnerable clients.
- Represent clients before the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal (where permitted).
- Work collaboratively with barristers, experts, and other professionals.
- Maintain accurate records and meet billing and performance targets.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- IAAS Level 2 Caseworker accreditation
- Strong knowledge of immigration, asylum, and human rights law.
- Excellent client care and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals and upholding access to justice.
Desirable:
- Tribunal advocacy experience.
- Knowledge of Legal Aid billing and compliance.
- Additional language skills (e.g., Arabic, Farsi, Kurdish, Urdu)
