Health Care Assistant – Tunbridge Wells - Full time position available.
We are a successful, privately owned business with a registered medical clinic in Leeds & Gateshead. We offer a range of exciting, innovative and safe skin treatments that help improve the lives of our clients. Our company, Skin Surgery Clinic, offers minor surgical treatments performed by leading, local consultants and doctors.
Due to our success and expansion we are seeking a friendly and professional healthcare assistant (HCA) to join our Tunbridge Wells team.
As our HCA, you'll work under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional, usually a Nurse, Surgeon or Doctor and assist with minor surgical/dermatology operations such as mole/cyst removals.
The work varies from day to day and will usually include
- greeting and making patients comfortable
- assisting with minor procedures
- monitoring patients' conditions during surgery
- preparing equipment
- restocking consulting rooms
- processing lab samples
- providing post-operative advice and dressings
- As you will have considerable contact with patients it is important for us that you present yourself professionally, maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a positive and friendly outlook at all times. We will also expect you to be:
- caring and kind
- cheerful and resourceful
- willing to be hands-on with patients
- able to follow instructions and procedures
- able to work in a team and use your own initiative
- We will require you to have good literacy and numeracy and ideally have GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
A healthcare qualification, such as BTEC, NVQ or a Care Certificate and some experience of assisting Doctors, Dentists, Nurses or other healthcare professionals within a clinical environment.
You'll also need excellent communication skills, including listening skills, organisation and observational skills.

We can offer full time hours of 30 to 37.5 hours per week. Your hours will be rostered into shifts and flexibility will be required to ensure our patients receive the best possible service. We are open six days a week and run morning, afternoon and evening clinics, between 8am and 8pm.
Must be available to attend 1 weeks face to face training at our Leeds clinic in September.
