About the role
C4 Logistics has been delivering time-critical transport and customs clearance for over 20 years. We're growing our in-house customs team and hiring an experienced Customs Clearance Agent to work on road, air, and multi-modal declarations for our UK and European clients.
You'll be joining an established customs team, not a lone customs seat wedged into a freight desk. If you take customs seriously as a career and want to work alongside other specialists, this is that kind of team.
What you'll do
- Prepare and submit import and export declarations
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and manage duty liabilities accurately
- Handle Transit (T1/T2), CFSP, and specialist customs procedures where required
- Liaise with customers, carriers, HMRC, and community systems (CDS, CNS, Destin8) to resolve clearance issues quickly
What we're looking for
- 2+ years' hands-on customs clearance experience
- Solid working knowledge of UK and EU customs requirements post-Brexit
- Familiarity with customs procedure codes and specialist procedures, CFSP and Transit are a real plus
- Comfort across the main UK customs systems (CDS, CNS, Destin8, Sequoia, CONEX)
Shift pattern
Customs work supports transport that runs across time zones. This role operates a three-week rotation, Monday–Friday, no weekends:
- Week 1: 07:00–16:00
- Week 2: 08:30–17:30
- Week 3: 10:00–19:00
The rotation gives the team full coverage of European and international freight movements, you will always have colleagues on either side of your shift.
