Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dispenser to join our healthcare team in 2 of our 5 GP Surgeries. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately preparing and dispensing medications, supporting patient care, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy protocols. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with pharmacy technician experience or those interested in developing a career in pharmacy services. The Dispenser will play a vital part in delivering safe and efficient medication management within our facility.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with pharmacy guidelines
- Assist GPs with medication administration and patient care activities
- Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and patient information
- Ensure the proper storage, labelling, and handling of pharmaceuticals
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reordering supplies as needed
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including infection control procedures
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organised, and compliant dispensary environment
Requirements
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration processes and patient care protocols
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in dispensing medication
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare staff
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional standards
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in pharmacy services are advantageous
