Job Summary - HGV Technician

This is a full-time 40 hour per week position, working on a shift basis Monday - Friday.
Very competitive rates of pay, with a generous performance related bonus available, call out rate and overtime availability.

The ideal applicant must be fully qualified and have at least 5 years + in HGV & Trailer Servicing, MOT preparation and knowledge of diagnostic testing and repair. As a Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our fleet, providing excellent customer service while working with various mechanical and electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics to identify faults and issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake adjustments, and tyre replacements.
- Repair and replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as necessary.
- Assemble components according to schematics and manufacturer specifications.
- Utilise electrical skills to troubleshoot and repair wiring issues within vehicles.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed on vehicles for compliance and quality assurance.
- Operate forklifts safely to move equipment or vehicles as needed within the workshop environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Technician or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and equipment repair techniques.
- Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for assembly and repair purposes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to provide high-quality customer service.
- A valid driving licence is essential; a forklift licence is advantageous but not mandatory.
