Role Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Valeter/Driver to join our team at a busy and fast-paced car dealership in Plymouth. The role involves preparing vehicles to a high standard for sale, display, and delivery, as well as carrying out driving duties including customer collections, trade drop-offs, and inter-site vehicle movements.
Key Responsibilities:
Valeting Duties:
- Clean and detail both the interior and exterior of vehicles to showroom standard.
- Carry out vehicle inspections pre- and post-valet.
- Ensure all vehicles are presented in a professional, customer-ready condition.
- Use appropriate valeting products and equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the valeting bay and work area.
Driving Duties:
- Collect and deliver vehicles between sites, garages, customers, and trade partners.
- Carry out vehicle pick-ups for MOTs, services, or warranty work as required.
- Complete vehicle checks before and after transit to ensure condition and fuel levels are logged.
- Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner during handovers and collections.
General Duties:
- Support the sales and aftersales team with ad hoc vehicle movements.
- Assist in the upkeep of the forecourt, ensuring all cars are aligned, clean, and well-presented.
- Report any vehicle damage or mechanical issues to management immediately.
- Support with stock preparation and photo bay logistics when needed.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence (clean preferred).
- Previous valeting or professional car cleaning experience.
- Confidence driving various vehicle types, including automatics, manuals, and vans.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and pride in delivering high-quality work.
Working Conditions:
- Monday to Saturday with rota-based shifts.
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Physically active role – walking, bending, and manual handling required.
