Sub Division: Facilities Management
Location: Watford
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full Time - 40 hours - Monday to Friday
Creating and maintaining great places to live and work delivered by excellent people who care…
Purpose of Role
We are looking for an experienced Workplace Facilities Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day facilities and office management across three commercial office locations in Watford, West Thurrock and Horsham.
Job Description
The main base will be our Watford Head Office, a modern, relatively new building operating under a landlord-managed model. Unlike a traditional fully self-managed facility, key services such as security and cleaning are provided by the landlord. The successful candidate will therefore need to be comfortable managing facilities through third-party providers, maintaining strong relationships with the landlord and ensuring the office continues to operate to a high standard.
You will also have responsibility for two smaller offices in West Thurrock and Horsham, providing a genuinely multi-site facilities management role. There is flexibility around start and finish times, and there is no expectation to be on site at 8:00am every day. The priority is effective management of the facilities, people and services across all three locations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day facilities and office operations across three sites.
- Lead and develop a small team of Facilities Assistants and Porters at Watford and 2 Receptionists at Horsham.
- Ensure appropriate facilities oversight at West Thurrock, where there is no permanent facilities team.
- Manage landlord relationships and ensure landlord-provided services meet agreed standards.
- Oversee cleaning, security, reception, front-of-house and catering services.
- Ensure offices are safe, clean, professional and welcoming environments for employees, visitors and clients.
- Manage contractors, suppliers and service providers, monitoring performance and standards.
- Manage facilities-related budgets, expenditure and supplier performance.
- Ensure appropriate compliance with health & safety and facilities procedures.
- Provide a visible and proactive facilities presence across all three locations.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
- Previous experience in Facilities Management, Office Management or Workplace Management within a commercial environment.
- Strong experience managing soft services, particularly reception, front of house, cleaning, security and catering.
- Proven experience managing and developing people.
- Experience managing multiple sites and working across different operational environments.
- A good understanding of basic building maintenance and facilities management.
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- A practical, hands-on approach with the confidence to deal with issues and make decisions.
- IOSH Managing Safely & IWFM qualification would be beneficial
- A clean UK driving licence is essential due to the multi-site nature of the role.
In return for your hard work we offer additional training and development, 26 days holiday (+ bank holidays), generous pension contribution, life assurance and much more.
