Job Summary
As a Day Club Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals attending our day club. You will provide support and assistance in a safe and engaging environment, helping participants to enjoy various activities, socialize, and maintain their independence.
Duties
- Support Participants: Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal care, mobility, and social interactions.
- Activity Facilitation: facilitate recreational and educational activities, ensuring they are engaging and suitable for all participants.
- Communication: Foster positive relationships with participants, their families, and other staff members to create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Monitoring Well-being: Observe and report any changes in participants’ physical or emotional well-being, ensuring appropriate interventions are taken.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of participant attendance, progress, and any incidents or concerns.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff members to create a cohesive team environment.
- Health and Safety: Ensure a safe environment by following health and safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements
- Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with clients and team members.
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with creating and following care plans is preferred.
- A valid driving licence is desirable for transporting clients when necessary.
- Strong IT skills to manage documentation and client records efficiently.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating empathy and patience.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting client dignity at all times.
