Vehicle Technician / Mechanic / MOT Tester

Simply Cars is a busy and growing independent used car dealership, and we’re looking for experienced Vehicle Technicians / Mechanics to join our workshop team.
We’re interested in hearing from technicians with different strengths. You do not need to specialise in every area – we’d like to hear from you if you are:
- A qualified MOT Tester
- Strong in vehicle diagnostics and fault finding
- An experienced general mechanic / vehicle technician
- Or have a combination of the above
The Role
You’ll be working on a wide variety of makes and models, carrying out work including:
- Servicing and general mechanical repairs
- MOT testing (if qualified)
- Diagnostics and electrical fault finding
- Brakes, suspension, steering and general maintenance
- Timing belts/chains, clutches and other mechanical repairs
- Preparing vehicles to a high standard for retail sale
- Identifying faults and accurately reporting required repairs
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has good experience working as a mechanic or vehicle technician
- Can confidently diagnose and repair faults independently
- Takes pride in their work and works to a high standard
- Is reliable, organised and able to work as part of a team
- Holds a full UK driving licence
- MOT Tester qualification would be a big advantage, but is not essential
- Diagnostic experience would also be highly desirable
