We have an opportunity for the right candidate to join our recently refurbished Jewellery workshop. Michael Jones Jeweller was founded in 1919. With 3 shops within Northampton and Banbury, we are privileged to work with the finest watch and jewellery brands and are committed to offering high quality service.
Michael Jones Jeweller has always been passionate about our ability to not only sell exquisite jewellery but create, service, and repair items for customers. This is a unique opportunity as you would be joining a successful business that is also a co-operative, meaning after a year’s service you would have the opportunity to join the co-operative becoming part owner. We would be open to employing either a skilled goldsmith with experience, or an individual who has cross over skills or hobbies that would lend themselves to the skills required to create or repair jewellery.
We currently have 3 members of the team with a combined jewellery background of 75 years, we would provide training that meets the requirements for whatever your experience. The position is full-time, working on Saturdays with a day off during the week. The co-operative offers competitive rates of pay and excellent perks including an incredible pension scheme and profit share.
The jewellery workshop is very busy carrying out all levels of jewellery repairs and bespoke commissions, we combine traditional hand craft skills with CAD design and micro setting. Our team have completed training with internationally renowned stone setters as well as many courses on the various techniques required and have completed JET and Gem-A gemmology courses; all would be available to the right candidate.
Although Jewellery experience is not essential, we will only be considering candidates that have a passion for working in fine detail and a track record, either work or hobby related, of craft-based hand skills required within our trade.
