Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Reach Truck Driver/Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating reach trucks to efficiently handle materials, manage stock levels, and support shipping and receiving operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and mechanical aptitude to contribute to a fast-paced logistics environment. The position involves heavy lifting and requires a proactive approach to safety and equipment maintenance. Pick and pack operation bespoke packing involved.
Responsibilities
- Operate reach trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse
- Manage stock levels using the warehouse management system (WMS) to ensure accurate inventory records
- Assist with shipping and receiving procedures, including checking deliveries and preparing items for dispatch
- Perform routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to ensure operational safety and efficiency
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and organisation of goods
- Support warehouse organisation by maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets and deadlines
- Assist in loading and unloading lorries, ensuring items are handled correctly and safely
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklift reach trucks in a warehouse setting
- knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Experience in materials handling, load & unload procedures, and shipping & receiving processes
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Basic maths skills for inventory counts and measurements
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and prolonged periods on foot
- Mechanical aptitude to identify potential equipment issues before they escalate
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
