We are looking for a professional and adaptable Site Protection Officer (SPO) to provide exceptional security cover across Marks & Spencer Distribution Centres in Avonmouth.
As an SPO, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure working environment for staff, visitors, and contractors, protecting company assets, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality service across all DCs. You will be required to work flexibly across days, nights, and weekends, including short-notice cover when required.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Provide professional security cover across multiple M&S Distribution Centres within Bristol.
Deliver outstanding customer service in line with Mitie and M&S key values.
Maintain professional standards of appearance, conduct, and incident reporting.
Monitor access control systems, CCTV, and vehicle movements in accordance with site procedures.
Conduct regular internal and external patrols to ensure site safety and security.
Conduct site and person searches.
Clearly communicate with staff and members of the public, reporting any concerns to security management.
Support the prevention and investigation of theft, stock loss, and unauthorised access.
Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following site protocols.
Assist site management and permanent SPO teams to maintain smooth and compliant operations.
Work flexibly to meet operational requirements, including short-notice assignments.
Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and company security policies.
Person Specification
Literate and numerate with strong attention to detail and IT skills.
Professional appearance and high personal standards.
Adaptable, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Calm under pressure with a positive, “can-do” attitude.
Must hold a valid front-line SIA Licence.
Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle.
