Are you an experienced Interventional Radiographer looking to progress into a senior clinical leadership position?
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the daily delivery and continued development of our Interventional Radiology and Fluoroscopy services. You will combine advanced clinical practice with operational management, service improvement and team leadership while maintaining an active clinical presence within the department.
A little about the role
As our Interventional & Fluoroscopy Imaging Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for the daily clinical and operational management of the Interventional Radiology and Fluoroscopy services.
You will provide visible leadership to the Radiography team, ensuring that patients receive safe, efficient and personalised care. Working closely with Consultant Radiologists, senior Radiology leaders, booking teams and colleagues across the hospital, you will support effective patient pathways and maintain the highest standards of clinical practice.
You will also play an important role in developing the service. This will include monitoring activity and capacity, leading quality improvement initiatives, supporting clinical audit and identifying opportunities to improve patient care and departmental performance.
Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will maintain your advanced clinical expertise and act as a professional role model for colleagues throughout the department.
What you’ll be doing
As the Interventional & Fluoroscopy Imaging Clinical Lead, you will:

Lead the daily clinical and operational management of the Interventional Radiology and Fluoroscopy services to ensure safe, efficient and consistently high-quality service delivery

Maintain an active clinical presence and apply your advanced Interventional Radiology and Fluoroscopy expertise to support complex procedures and uphold excellent standards of patient care

Supervise, mentor and support Radiographers to build their confidence, capability and commitment to delivering safe, effective and personalised care

Work alongside the Practice Educator to ensure colleagues achieve the required training, competency and professional development standards

Coordinate the Interventional Radiologist on call rota to maintain appropriate clinical cover and continuity of service

Collaborate with Consultant Radiologists, booking teams and wider hospital stakeholders to create efficient, coordinated and patient focused pathways

Monitor equipment performance and liaise with service providers to resolve technical issues promptly and minimise disruption to clinical services

Lead quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits and the development of evidence-based practice to strengthen patient safety and service quality

Monitor service performance and analyse activity, capacity and demand data to support informed operational decisions and effective resource planning

Identify and implement opportunities for improvement to enhance patient experience, clinical quality and operational efficiency

Support the continued growth and development of the Interventional Radiology service to meet changing patient needs and organisational priorities

Act as a positive role model to create a supportive, collaborative and accountable team culture
What we’re looking for
To be successful in this role, you will need:

Current HCPC registration as a Radiographer

Extensive clinical experience within Interventional Radiology and Fluoroscopy

Previous leadership, supervisory or senior level experience within a Radiology environment

Strong clinical judgement and the confidence to lead a specialist imaging service

Experience supporting the training, development and competency assessment of colleagues
-
A strong understanding of clinical governance, patient safety, audit and quality improvement

Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills
-
The ability to analyse service information and identify opportunities for improvement

A proactive and collaborative approach to leadership

A genuine commitment to clinical excellence, staff development and outstanding patient care
