The opportunity
We are looking for a bright, organised and commercially minded person to help keep our live construction projects supplied and moving. This is a practical operations role with purchasing at its core. You will deal with requests from site, source and order materials, arrange project logistics, chase suppliers and solve the small problems that can otherwise hold work up.
Previous procurement experience is not required. We care more about aptitude, judgement, organisation and the confidence to take ownership. The role is initially intended to support short-to-medium-term workload, with a genuine possibility of becoming permanent for the right person.
What you will do
- Receive purchasing and logistics requests from live sites and make sure they are fulfilled promptly.
- Place online and emailed orders for materials, tools and project supplies.
- Source products, compare suppliers, check availability and sense-check prices.
- Arrange skips, waste collections, deliveries and other day-to-day project logistics.
- Chase suppliers, resolve delivery issues and keep simple purchasing records.
What we are looking for
- A sharp mind and good judgement. You spot missing information and ask the right questions.
- Strong organisation and the ability to handle several small, urgent tasks at once.
- Good numeracy and confidence comparing prices, quantities and options.
- Comfortable using Google, email, spreadsheets and online ordering systems.
- Clear communication, reliability and a willingness to take ownership rather than wait to be told every step.
Who this could suit
A recent graduate, college leaver or early-career candidate could be an excellent fit. An interest in business, operations, construction, project management or procurement is useful, but not essential. A capable person with the right attitude can learn the purchasing side quickly.
What success looks like
Site teams get what they need on time, orders are accurate, suppliers are chased before problems become urgent, and the wider team can rely on you to close the loop.
