Mount Olivet Nursing Home is looking for a reliable, practical and motivated Maintenance Person to join our friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in keeping buildings safe, well-maintained and welcoming.
As part of our team, you will play an important role in ensuring our residents live in a safe, comfortable and pleasant environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Carry out day-to-day maintenance and repairs throughout the home.
- Complete routine health and safety checks.
- Ensure the building, grounds and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests.
- Undertake basic plumbing, decorating, carpentry and general repairs.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance.
- Liaise with external contractors when required.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Fire Safety and CQC standards.
- Assist with setting up rooms and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the home.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is practical, organised and reliable.
- Has experience in general building maintenance or a similar role.
- Has good DIY skills, including basic plumbing, decorating and repairs.
- Can work independently and manage their workload.
- Has excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Enjoys working as part of a caring and supportive team.
- Has a friendly and approachable manner when interacting with residents, visitors and staff.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within a care home, healthcare or hospitality setting.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and Fire Safety.
- Full UK driving licence (desirable but not essential).

Please note a flexible working approach across both homes will be required, this would be between Mount Olivet and Kingsmount. This are located a few miles apart. Being able to drive would be essential.
