Job Overview
The Yellowave Beach Sports Cafe and Venue is seeking a dedicated and experienced Duty Manager to oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain high standards of food safety and hospitality. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising staff, managing the venue’s activities, and delivering an outstanding experience for guests in a vibrant beachside setting. Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily running of the cafe and venue, ensuring smooth operations during shifts.
- Supervise and support team members, including serving staff, kitchen personnel, and baristas, fostering a positive working environment.
- Manage food preparation and cooking processes to uphold quality standards and food safety regulations.
- Coordinate food production activities, ensuring timely service and efficient workflow.
- Assist with food safety compliance, including hygiene standards and health & safety procedures.
- Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service, addressing guest enquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Organise staff rotas, training schedules, and performance evaluations to optimise team productivity.
- Maintain stock levels, place orders as necessary, and oversee inventory management.
- Ensure the venue complies with all licensing laws and health & safety regulations.
- Support event organisation and special functions hosted at the venue.
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within hospitality or restaurant environments.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
- Extensive restaurant experience, including food preparation, cooking, serving, and kitchen operations.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food production.
- Previous experience in hospitality management or as a duty manager is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Hospitality background with experience in beachside or outdoor venues preferred.
- Additional skills such as barista experience or hotel experience are advantageous but not essential.
