Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Van Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. Duties
- Collect parcels and orders from the central depot or designated collection points
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel usage. Including adapting as necessary for traffic or weather conditions
- Safely operate delivery vans to transport goods to designated destinations
- Load and unload items, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
- Handle deliveries with care to prevent damage or spoilage
- Uphold food safety standards during handling and transportation of perishable items
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies throughout the delivery process
Skills
- Friendly, approachable manner with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Ability to work independently while managing time effectively
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, preferably with commercial driving experience
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous
- Ability to handle goods by lifting parcels safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Familiarity with driving regulations and safety standards within the UK
- This position is ideal for individuals who are organised, punctual, and committed to providing excellent service. Candidates should possess a valid driver’s licence suitable for commercial vehicles and demonstrate the ability to manage physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
Pay: £160.00 per day
