Responsibilities
- Provide one-on- one support
- Assist with daily routines including personal care, mobility, communication, and social interactions
- Implement individualized plans designed by educators or therapists to support and development goals
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment by monitoring activities and ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Use effective communication skills to engage with other residents, staff and professionals encourage participation in activities
- Collaborate with therapists, and families to track progress and adapt support strategies accordingly.
- Support the adult during transitions and help manage challenging behaviours with positive reinforcement techniques.
Experience
- Prior experience working with individual with challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
- Background in 1-1 support is advantageous
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively, with families, and team members
- Knowledge of best practices in inclusive support strategies
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and adaptability in supporting unique needs
