Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our dynamic culinary team.
We are a family run business opening our second shop which will be mainly tempura based with smash burgers and loaded fries as options too.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of our takeaway food service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase culinary expertise while leading a team in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive kitchen experience, and a commitment to food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to menu specifications and quality standards
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training and mentoring team members
- Oversee food production processes to ensure efficiency and consistency in presentation and taste
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness within the kitchen environment
- Coordinate with customer service staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control effectively
- Develop new recipes and contribute to menu planning to keep offerings innovative and appealing
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist in serving customers when required, providing excellent hospitality
Requirements
- Proven experience in a culinary or restaurant setting, with a strong background in food preparation and cooking
- Supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment is highly desirable
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
- Experience in food production, hospitality, or related fields preferred
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
