About Parkhill Dental
Parkhill Dental is an independently owned, five-surgery mixed dental practice in Torquay.
We provide both NHS and private dentistry, including advanced gum care, Invisalign and restorative treatment. We are particularly known for supporting nervous patients, so kindness and patience are just as important to us as strong clinical skills.
The role
You will provide chairside support across NHS and private care, working with our dentists, therapists and hygienists.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Chairside nursing across a broad range of NHS and private treatments
- Preparing and maintaining surgeries, instruments and materials
- Decontamination and infection prevention in line with national standards
- Updating medical histories and consent forms
- Reassuring and supporting nervous patients
- Supporting treatment coordination, follow-up and recall
- Completing stock and equipment checks
- Keeping daily surgery routines, audits and records up to date
What we are looking for
You will need:
- Current GDC registration as a dental nurse
- Up-to-date indemnity and CPD
- Chairside nursing experience within general dental practice
- A good understanding of decontamination and infection control
- Patience and empathy when caring for anxious patients
- Reliability, good timekeeping and the ability to work well as part of a team
Reliability matters more to us than a perfectly polished CV.
Useful—but not essential
We would be particularly interested to hear from you if you have:
- A post-registration certificate in radiography, impression-taking, oral health education, sedation or implant nursing
- Experience assisting with periodontal treatment, Invisalign or restorative cases
