A J Stephenson Removals Ltd are a long-established, family-run removals company based in Billericay, Essex, with over 40 years of experience providing professional domestic removals and storage services throughout the UK.
We have built an excellent reputation for customer service, professionalism and attention to detail, with much of our work coming from repeat customers and recommendations.
We are currently looking for an experienced HGV / 7.5 Tonne Removals Driver to join our friendly and professional team.
A HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence is preferred; however, applications from experienced 7.5 tonne (Category C1) removals drivers will also be considered.
PLEASE NOTE
Applicants must have a minimum of two years' experience within the domestic removals industry.
Applicants without previous removals experience are unlikely to be shortlisted.
The Role
This is a hands-on role involving:
- Driving HGV Class 2 or 7.5 tonne removal vehicles
- Loading, unloading and protecting customers' furniture and personal belongings
- Packing and wrapping household effects where required
- Dismantling and reassembling furniture
- Delivering outstanding customer service
- Working professionally as part of an experienced removals team
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' domestic removals experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence preferred, or 7.5 tonne (Category C1) licence
- Driver CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good spoken English
- Smart, professional appearance
- Ability to work well within a team
- References from previous removals employment
Desirable Skills
- Export wrapping and specialist packing
- Practical handyman skills
- Experience driving both 7.5 tonne and HGV Class 2 removal vehicles
Salary
£145–£150 per day (equivalent to approximately £37,700–£39,000 per year), depending on licence, experience, attitude and ability.

No agency staff or subcontract crews—we employ our own professional removals team.
Due to the nature of the removals industry, occasional Saturday work and nights away will be required.
