About Us
Unitrak Powderflight Ltd is a UK manufacturer of dry bulk material handling equipment, based in Glossop, Derbyshire. We're part of the Unitrak Group, an established international manufacturing business with a growing global customer base. As demand for our equipment and aftersales support grows, we're looking for an experienced Service Engineer to join us.
The Role
This is a newly created role supporting the servicing, breakdown repair, and on-site build of our conveying equipment. When you're not out on service visits, you'll be based at our Glossop factory — helping build and prepare equipment — and, increasingly, visiting customer sites to carry out service and repair work. As the role develops, the balance will shift further towards customer site visits, with occasional travel outside the UK.
You'll report directly to the Managing Director, and while this is a standalone engineering role, you won't be working in isolation — our on-site team of engineers, who've supported service work on an ad-hoc basis, will be on hand to help.
Key Responsibilities
- Service and repair conveying equipment at customer sites, including responding to breakdowns
- Work on-site at our Glossop factory helping build and prepare equipment
- Deal confidently and professionally with customers, including under pressure during breakdown situations
- Complete accurate service reports and log activity on our customer database
- Travel to customer sites across the UK, with occasional international travel as the role develops
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience as a service or field engineer, with strong hands-on mechanical competence
- Excellent customer-facing skills — calm, professional, and solutions-focused under pressure
- IT competent, comfortable completing reports and logging activity on a customer database
- Full, valid driving licence
- Valid passport and willingness to travel outside the UK as required
- Willingness and ability to travel to and work at our Glossop factory
Desirable:
- Basic electrical knowledge (not essential — full training on our equipment provided)
What We Offer
- Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience)
