Front of House Manager
Location: Choices Health Club, Derby

Hours: Weekdays and weekends, including mornings and evenings.

Choices Health Club Derby is looking for a friendly, organised and motivated Front of House Manager to lead our reception team and ensure every member and guest receives an excellent experience.
As the first point of contact for our members, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming, professional and positive atmosphere. You will oversee the day-to-day running of reception, support membership sales and lead the front-of-house team to deliver consistently high standards.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, support and motivate the reception team.
- Provide excellent customer service to members, guests and prospective members.
- Manage staff rotas, holiday requests and reception cover.
- Train new team members and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Handle membership enquiries, tours, sales and follow-ups.
- Help the club achieve its membership and retention targets.
- Respond to member questions, feedback and complaints professionally.
- Ensure members and guests are welcomed, checked in and supported.
- Oversee reception administration, emails, telephone enquiries and cash handling.
- Make sure membership records and payments are processed accurately.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the reception and front-of-house areas.
- Support club promotions, events and member communications.
- Work closely with the Club Manager and wider management team.
- Assist with the general day-to-day operation of the health club.
- Follow all company procedures, including health and safety, data protection and safeguarding requirements.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in a customer-facing or supervisory role.
- Is confident leading and developing a team.
- Has excellent communication and people skills.
- Is friendly, approachable and professional.
- Is highly organised and able to prioritise a busy workload.
- Can confidently handle difficult conversations and resolve concerns.
- Is commercially aware and comfortable working towards sales targets.
- Is reliable, proactive and willing to take ownership.
- Has good IT and administrative skills.
- Can work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends.
Previous experience within the health, fitness, leisure, hospitality or membership industry would be beneficial, but it is not essential.
