About the Role
As Production Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our production department. Working closely with senior management, you will develop and implement production strategies, deliver production targets, manage departmental budgets, and ensure our factory operates safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will also lead and motivate production teams while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of production across the site.
- Ensure production lines are prepared, checked, and operational for planned start times.
- Brief Team Leaders on daily production plans and priorities.
- Manage staffing levels, including agency labour requirements.
- Lead, motivate and develop production teams.
- Monitor production performance and present KPIs to senior management.
- Plan and manage changes to products, machinery and production processes.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, Health & Safety and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Engineering, Technical and HR departments to support operational excellence.
- Participate as a member of the Senior Management Team, HACCP Team and Health & Safety Committee.
- Support recruitment, training and employee development across the production department.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Extensive experience as a Production Manager or Production Supervisor within the FMCG or food manufacturing industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- Experience managing KPIs, production performance and operational budgets.
- A sound understanding of food safety, HACCP, quality systems and Health & Safety.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
Pay: £40,000.00-£52,000.00 per year
