Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a compassionate approach to senior care. The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for supervising care staff, developing personalised care plans, and ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained at all times.
Duties
- Supervise and support care staff to deliver exceptional care to residents, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures
- Assist in the development, implementation, and review of personalised care plans tailored to individual needs
- Provide direct personal care and support to residents, promoting independence and dignity
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, recognising changes that may require medical attention or intervention
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and resident progress using IT systems
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure coordinated care
- Lead by example in promoting a caring, respectful, and professional environment within the care home
- Organise training sessions for staff to enhance their skills in senior care and supervision
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and safeguarding policies
Experience
- Proven experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare or social care setting is essential
- Knowledge of creating and managing personalised care plans in accordance with residents’ needs
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Valid driving licence is desirable for supporting residents' outings or appointments but not essential
- Experience in caring for individuals with complex health needs is advantageous
