Role : Field Service Engineer (Electronics)
Location: North London / Hertfordshire (Enfield, St Albans, Knebworth, Harlow)
Hours: Full time, 37.5hr per week
Pay: £41,000 p/annum + 1.5x Overtime & Double on Saturdays (if required)
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Field Service Engineer specializing in Electronics to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing on-site technical support, maintenance, and repair services for a diverse range of electronic equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand tools, and a solid understanding of computer hardware and networking. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic systems and equipment in the field, utilizing schematics and technical manuals.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repairs on electronic devices to ensure they operate efficiently.
- Utilize hand tools effectively for disassembly, assembly, and repair of electronic components.
- Interpret schematics and technical diagrams to identify issues and implement solutions accurately.
- Maintain detailed service reports documenting work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide clear technical guidance during service visits.
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and comply with company policies.
Candidate Expectations
- HNC / HND in an electronics/electrical field or equivalent technical qualification
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role with a focus on electronics.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using various hand tools.
- Experience in equipment repair, maintenance procedures, and calibration techniques.
- Ability to diagnose complex electronic problems efficiently and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Valid full UK Driving licence; willingness to travel frequently for on-site service calls.
