About the Role
We are currently recruiting passionate and dedicated Children’s Residential Support Workers on behalf of our client, a well-established provider with multiple children’s residential homes across the Teesside and County Durham area.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people who require care, support, stability, and positive role models. The successful candidates will initially join on a 16-week temporary contract with a view to becoming a permanent member of the team.

Key Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.
- Promoting positive outcomes, independence, and personal development.
- Building professional, trusting relationships with young people.
- Supporting education, hobbies, life skills, and social activities.
- Maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, social workers, schools, healthcare professionals, and families.
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people at all times.
- Managing challenging behaviours in a calm, professional, and therapeutic manner.
- Supporting young people through daily routines and activities.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Full UK Right to Work with no restrictions (no sponsorship available).
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluent English language skills.
- A caring, resilient, and positive attitude.
- Ability to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
- Previous experience within children’s residential care.
- Experience in support work, youth work, education, mental health or other related sectors.
- Understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and trauma-informed practice.

Salary & Benefits
- Salary of £27,512 - £30,976 depending on experience (additional payment for waking nights & sleep ins).
- Fully funded Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already achieved)
