Role Description
As a Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in delivering expert compliance advice and partnering with the business to manage regulatory risk, support strategic initiatives and drive best practice. This is an excellent opportunity to combine technical compliance expertise with business-facing influence in a dynamic environment.
This is a hybrid role, based in either Guildford, London or Bournemouth.
Salary Information
Pay: Circa £71,000 per year.
Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
- Provide proactive compliance advice to business areas, supporting decision making and ensuring adherence to FCA, PRA and other regulatory requirements
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to identify and manage conduct and compliance risks
- Support the delivery of regulatory change initiatives, business projects and strategic programmes
- Assess regulatory developments and translate them into clear, practical actions for the business
- Identify, analyse and mitigate compliance risks, ensuring effective controls and governance frameworks are in place
- Provide support on compliance incidents, breaches and investigations, working collaboratively to achieve effective resolution
- Act as a trusted advisor and escalation point, building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and share insights and best practice across the organisation
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of compliance processes, frameworks and ways of working
Essential Skills
- Strong experience within financial services, ideally in a regulated or insurance environment
- Experience in compliance, risk or governance roles with a solid understanding of UK regulatory frameworks
- Ability to identify, assess and communicate compliance and conduct risks in a clear and pragmatic way
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge constructively
- Experience supporting or delivering regulatory change or business initiatives
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly
- Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Skills
- Degree level education or equivalent experience
- Professional qualification (e.g. ACII) or working towards one
- Experience within insurance or a large, complex financial services organisation
- Exposure to regulatory reporting, thematic reviews or market studies
- Understanding of governance frameworks and regulatory processes
- Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage
