Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Transport Operations Manager to lead and optimize our transportation and logistics functions. Duties
- Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of transportation operations to ensure timely delivery of goods while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Supervise transportation teams, including drivers, warehouse staff, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on safety and accountability.
- Manage profit & loss responsibilities by monitoring budgets, controlling expenses, and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms, and AS400 to streamline workflows and enhance data accuracy.
- Oversee shipping & receiving activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize routes, reduce transit times, and improve overall service levels.
- Coordinate with supply chain partners to align logistics strategies with organizational goals while managing warehouse operations including forklift usage and inventory control.
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in transportation or logistics environments with a track record of leading teams effectively.
- Strong understanding of profit & loss management within a logistics context.
- Hands-on experience with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and AS400 platforms.
- Knowledge of 3PL providers, shipping & receiving protocols, and warehouse processes including forklift operation and warehouse safety standards.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement initiatives within complex supply chain settings.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments and external partners effectively.

Pay: £28,839.59-£54,315.43 per year
