Personal Care Assistant
Location: Huddersfield
Hours: Part time, 3-4 day shifts per week
Salary: £13.30 - £16.25 per hour
Right to work in the UK required
We are looking for a Personal Care Assistant for a young male adult wheelchair user in their own home. The role includes providing personal care, preparing meals, supporting with medication, light household duties, companionship and social support. Day shifts - Monday to Saturday, example of shift times - 7:30 - 3:00, 9:30 - 4:00, 9:00 - 5:00.
About the role:
- Supporting with personal care and administering medication
- Providing stability and consistency in care routines
- Ensuring dignity, privacy, and choice are respected at all times
- Performing light food preparation and cooking
- Provide social support and companionship
- Support with transfers
About you:
- Experience in a similar role or confidence with moving and handling
- Good comprehension of the English language
- A kind, empathetic, and patient nature
- Ability to communicate effectively and respond to individual care needs
- Reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude
What we offer:
- Pay from £13.30–£16.25 per hour for carers aged 21 and over (bank holidays £16.25 p/h)
- Alternate weekends off and rotas given 4 weeks in advance
