As a member of the Waiting Staff at The Lakes Bar & Kitchen, you will be the face of the restaurant, responsible for delivering exceptional service to all guests. You will ensure that guests feel welcomed and are served in a timely, courteous, and professional manner. This role requires a passion for hospitality, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high service standards.
Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
· Greet and seat guests warmly, ensuring a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
· Take food and drink orders from guests and relay them to the kitchen or bar promptly.
· Serve food and beverages to guests, ensuring all items are delivered as ordered and in a timely manner.
· Be attentive to guest needs throughout their dining experience
· Maintain effective communication with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow.
· Assist in the coordination of table settings, clearing, and resetting tables for the next service.
· Handle any guest concerns or complaints with professionalism, escalating issues to the Head Supervisor when necessary.
· Set up the dining area before service, ensuring tables, chairs, and décor are arranged appropriately.
· Ensure cutlery, glasses, and dishes are polished, clean, and ready for use.
· Assist with the daily cleaning and upkeep of the restaurant, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met.
· Process guest payments accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
· Work collaboratively with other waiting staff, bartenders, and kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
· Participate in staff briefings and meetings, staying informed of any special events, menu changes, or guest preferences.
What we’re looking for:
· Previous experience as waiting staff or in a similar customer-facing role is preferred but not essential.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and friendly demeanor.
· Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
· Basic knowledge of food and beverage service, including handling dietary requirements.
· Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· A genuine passion for hospitality and providing outstanding guest experiences.
· Friendly, approachable, and confident in interacting with guests.
· Proactive and able to anticipate guest needs.
· Professional appearance and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of service.
