Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant or Trainee Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in pharmacy operations and patient care within a supportive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in dispensing medications, providing excellent customer service, and supporting medication management processes. Prior pharmacy experience is advantageous but not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided. This paid position is ideal for individuals looking to develop or start their career in pharmacy and healthcare.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists with dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and label medication in accordance with legal and safety standards
- Manage stock levels, including ordering, receiving, and storing
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate records of medication transactions and patient interactions
- Ensure the pharmacy environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Support patient care activities by answering queries and providing information about over-the-counter products
Skills
- Previous pharmacy experience or relevant healthcare background is desirable
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in dispensing medications
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to legal standards within pharmacy practice
- Enthusiasm for learning about pharmaceutical sciences and patient care practices
