Self-Employed Removal Porter – Furniture, Home & Office Moves
UrbanMove Logistics Ltd is looking for reliable and professional self-employed Removal Porters to support our growing demand for home, office, and furniture moves.
This is a flexible, self-employed opportunity ideal for individuals who want control over their schedule while earning competitive hourly rates.
Role Overview:
As a self-employed removal porter, you will be responsible for assisting with moving jobs, including lifting, carrying, and protecting items, and ensuring a smooth and safe move for customers. You may work independently or as part of a team depending on the size of the move.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload furniture, household, and office items with care.
- Assist with packing, wrapping, and protecting goods where required.
- Help move items safely in and out of properties, including stairs.
- Work efficiently to complete jobs within scheduled timeframes.
- Communicate with customers and the UrbanMove operations team as needed.
- Follow manual handling and health & safety best practices.
- Represent the UrbanMove brand professionally at all times.
Requirements:
- Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Good time management and reliability.
- Driving licence not mandatory but preferred.
- Access to a smartphone for job updates and navigation.
- Previous removals, delivery, or logistics experience preferred but not essential.
Vehicle Options:
- Driving a vehicle is optional, but preferred for flexibility.
- Company van use is only required if a driver role is combined; porters mainly assist with handling items.
Pay Structure (Self-Employed):
- £13.00 to £15.00 per hour
- Payments are made based on completed jobs/hours worked.
- Opportunity to increase earnings through availability and consistent performance.
Working Flexibility:
- Operates Monday to Sunday.
- Choose your own working days (subject to demand).
- Part-time and full-time availability welcome.
- Jobs are typically scheduled during daytime hours.
Important Information:
- This is a self-employed (independent contractor) role, not an employed position.
- Porters are responsible for their own tax and National Insurance.
