Yard Operative / Waste Picker

About the Role
Earthworks Recycling Ltd is looking for a reliable, hardworking Yard Operative to join our busy recycling yard.
The role involves working as part of a small team to help process waste safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on outdoor role, so we're looking for someone who isn't afraid of hard work and getting their hands dirty.
Key Responsibilities
- Hand-picking waste materials from stockpiles.
- Sorting recyclable and non-recyclable materials.
- General yard duties, including housekeeping and keeping work areas clean and safe.
- Assisting with loading, unloading and moving materials around the site.
- Following health and safety procedures at all times.
- Supporting the wider yard team wherever required.
What We're Looking For
- Hardworking with a good work ethic.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Happy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Physically fit and able to undertake manual work.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience operating a selector grab.
- Telehandler experience.
- Previous experience in recycling, waste management or a similar environment.
Don't worry if you don't have the above experience. If you've got the right attitude and are willing to work hard, we'll provide full training and support to help you develop in the role.
