Alcedo Care is recruiting a Female Complex Care Assistant – Waking Nights to support one client in their own home in FY6. This is a dedicated 36-hour contracted waking night position, providing 1:1 support for a child living with Cerebral Palsy, Chronic Lung Disease, Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), Metabolic Bone Disease of Prematurity and Dystonia.
This is an awake night role, meaning you will remain awake and alert throughout your shift to provide continuous monitoring, care and support as required.
Unlike many care roles, this position offers 36 guaranteed waking night hours every week, providing reliable income, consistency and long-term stability.
As a Waking Night Complex Care Assistant, you will provide attentive 1:1 care throughout the night, ensuring the client remains safe, comfortable and appropriately supported.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Remaining awake and alert throughout the night shift to monitor and respond to the client's needs
- Providing person-centred complex care within the client's home
- Ventilator monitoring and respiratory support throughout the night
- Monitoring the client's condition and completing required clinical observations
- Supporting PEG feeding, hydration and nutrition requirements
- Medication support in line with the client's care plan
- Providing personal care and continence support where required
- Supporting repositioning, mobility and comfort throughout the night
- Recognising changes in the client's condition and escalating concerns appropriately
- Supporting communication through specialist assistive technology
- Maintaining accurate care records and handovers
- Promoting dignity, choice, safety and wellbeing at all times
Working as part of a dedicated care team, you'll help provide continuity and reassurance for the client and their family while ensuring they receive safe, responsive and high-quality care throughout the night.
You will receive comprehensive nurse-led training, competency sign-off and ongoing support from our in-house Registered Nurses and clinical team.

- Minimum 6 months' hands-on care experience in a UK care setting or supporting a family member

- Previous tracheostomy or ventilator experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
