Purpose of the Role
The Supply Chain & Transformation Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day supply chain function while driving continuous improvement through technology, systems optimisation, and process transformation. The role combines operational supply chain management with the delivery of IT-enabled improvements, particularly within Sage 200, to improve efficiency, visibility, inventory control, planning, and customer service.
The successful candidate will act as the bridge between Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Sales, and IT, ensuring business processes are supported by robust systems and data.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Operations
- Manage end-to-end supply chain activities including:
- Procurement
- Demand planning
- Inventory management
- Production planning
- Supplier management
- Logistics and distribution
- Ensure product availability whilst maintaining optimum inventory levels.
- Develop supplier relationships and negotiate improvements in cost, quality and service.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and corrective action plans.
- Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
- Improve forecast accuracy through collaboration with Sales and Finance.
- Reduce inventory holding whilst maintaining agreed customer service levels.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
Supply Chain Systems & Technology
Take ownership of the continuous development of supply chain systems with particular focus on Sage 200.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead enhancement projects within Sage 200.
- Review and redesign business processes to maximise system capability.
- Improve data accuracy and master data governance.
- Develop dashboards and reporting to improve operational visibility.
- Identify automation opportunities across supply chain processes.
- Work with internal stakeholders and external software providers to implement new functionality.
- Evaluate complementary technologies that integrate with Sage 200
- Manage system upgrades, testing and implementation.
- Produce functional specifications for new developments.
- Train users and embed best practice.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead Lean process improvement initiatives.
- Eliminate manual processes wherever possible.
- Standardise operating procedures.
- Introduce automation to improve efficiency.
- Drive digital transformation projects across the supply chain.
- Measure and report benefits from improvement projects.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Data & Reporting
- Develop meaningful KPIs across the supply chain.
- Analyse trends in:
