Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Shuttering Carpenter to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and dismantling formwork and shutters used in concrete construction projects. Your expertise will help ensure the structural integrity and safety of large-scale commercial and infrastructure developments. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to accurately construct formwork tailored to project requirements.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install formwork using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to create molds for concrete pouring.
- Set up scaffolding, supports, and bracing systems to secure formwork structures during concrete placement.
- Operate heavy machinery and perform heavy lifting tasks safely to transport materials around the construction site.
- Collaborate with masons, engineers, and other trades to ensure proper alignment and positioning of formwork components.
- Dismantle formwork after concrete has set, ensuring minimal damage for reuse or proper disposal.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to all safety protocols related to roofing, masonry, welding, and general construction activities.
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as hammers, chisels, levels, and measuring tapes.
- Experience with power tools including drills, saws, grinders, and welding equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to carpentry, roofing systems, masonry techniques, and formwork construction.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining good physical condition throughout long shifts.
- Valid commercial driving license preferred for transporting materials or equipment between sites.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to construction sites, including working at heights and operating heavy machinery.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions precisely.
