Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our supported living team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need, including those in assisted living environments. This role involves working closely with people who have learning difficulties, Autism, Mental Health to promote their independence and well-being, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance and care in daily activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to service users, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to support service users with challenging behaviours.
- Administer medication as prescribed, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and progress, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Assist clients with mobility and transportation needs, including driving them to appointments or social activities when required.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses and other healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive care for each service user.
- Uphold the dignity and respect of all service user while fostering a supportive environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living or senior care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques is beneficial.
- Certification in First Aid is preferred.
- Experience in childcare may be advantageous for roles involving younger clients.
- Ability to administer medication safely and effectively is essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others is crucial for success in this role.
