Purpose of the Role
● To ensure the holistic needs of children living within Bristol Care Group’s care are understood, met, and responded to with compassion, ensuring a safe, nurturing and relational environment.
● To provide supportive, thoughtful leadership to Senior Theraputic Practitioners and Theraputic practitioners, enabling them to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care.
● To work alongside and support the Children’s Home Registered Manager to ensure the home operates smoothly, responsively and therapeutically, and that young people experience positive, meaningful outcomes.
Essential Skills & Experience
● NVQ3/QCF Level 3 (or equivalent) in Children and Young People.
● A minimum of 3 years’ direct experience supporting children with complex needs or behaviours understood as communication of trauma.
● Level 5 Diploma or commitment to enrol within 6 months of appointment, following successful probation.
● A genuine desire to progress into the role of Registered Manager within the next 12-18months.
● Experience of working collaboratively with external agencies, professionals, and families.
● Experience attending reviews, planning meetings and multi-agency discussions.
● Experience leading teams to high standards of therapeutic and regulatory practice.
● Strengths in supporting, guiding, and developing practitioners to create a cohesive, reflective, relational team culture.
● Knowledge and understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted requirements.
● Ability to work with autonomy, maintain accurate and clear written records, and follow safeguarding principles rigorously.
● Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, compassionate approach.
● Ability to complete daily records in line with statutory and organisational expectations.
● Willingness to work 9-5 and cover a shift pattern of two-on, four-off shift pattern when needed
● An empathetic and attuned nature, with an ability to connect with and co-regulate young people.
● Strong oral and written communication across a range of contexts.
● Ability to engage, motivate, and empower young people.
● Confident IT skills.
● Full manual driving licence (essential).
