As a Custody Detention Officer, you will be responsible for the safety and security of detainees in our custody whilst ensuring their welfare and security remains priority. you will be required to take prisoners under escort to various locations, including the Isle of Man Prison, Isle of Man COJ, IOMPHQ, medical appointments, island exclusions, bed watches, UK transfers and UK medicals. You will be required to maintain control and order in our custody Suite, looking after the security and welfare of detainees that come into our custody as well as upholding security within our court docks.
The successful candidate will be required to be flexible in all aspects of work, including the ability to work at short notice as and when required.
You will be working for our company Bidvest Noonan, working on behalf of our client, Isle of Man Prison and Probation service, you will work closely with the Isle of Man Prison, Police, and various other agencies.
You will be a patient person with a passion to learn and develop within your role, training will be provided to successful candidates, including but not limited to, Control and Restraint, First Aid, Automated External Defibrillation and Mental Health awareness.
This is a varied role which may include the use of physical force to ensure control and order is maintained.
